Maduramycin Ammonium

ALMAD Maduramycin Ammonium Feed Grade

Introduction

Alzyne Maduramycin ammonium is a feed-grade antibiotic widely used in animal husbandry to promote growth and prevent diseases in livestock. Derived from a natural fermentation process, this compound works effectively against various coccidial infections, thereby improving the overall health and productivity of poultry and livestock.

As a highly effective anticoccidial agent, maduramycin ammonium ensures better feed conversion rates, which is essential for farmers aiming to maximize yield while minimizing the use of harsh chemicals. Additionally, its use contributes to the sustainable and responsible management of livestock health, as it helps reduce reliance on broader-spectrum antibiotics, aligning with modern agricultural practices focused on animal welfare and food safety.

Its incorporation into animal feeds is carefully regulated to ensure optimal dosing and efficacy, thus making maduramycin ammonium a crucial component in the formulation of high-quality animal nutrition.

Additionally, its use in the agricultural sector supports overall productivity and efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable food supply. However, it is essential to use this antibiotic judiciously to minimize the risk of antimicrobial resistance, ensuring that it remains an effective solution for managing animal health challenges.

Functions and Applications

Alzyne Maduramycin Ammonium Premix is a specialized polyether antibiotic class for livestock and poultry. Its mechanism of action against coccidia is similar to that of monensin, mainly complexing with monovalent metal ions such as sodium and potassium, which hinders the normal ion balance and transport in the coccidia, leading to high ion concentration in the parasite, swelling and death. It can inhibit the proliferation of sporozoites and schizonts of coccidia, and its activity peak against coccidia occurs during the sporozoite and first and second generation schizonts (i.e. the life cycle of coccidia)

Used for the prevention and control of coccidiosis in broiler chickens, such as those caused by tender, giant, toxic, clumped, Brucella, and early maturing Eimeria.
